Having Shirim play at our son's Bar Mitzvah was so fantastic! It created a warm, festive party from the minute they started playing. All of our guests loved listening to and dancing with the music. Our hora dancing was spirited, fun and unforgettable. Our son (the Bar Mitzvah boy) is an aspiring musician and accompanied the band on his violin for a few songs. This was thrilling for him and our family and friends loved it. Later in the evening, we had Shirim provide DJ services for the second half of the party. The kids loved playing games with the DJ and guests of all ages were on the dance floor for hours: the music choices were perfect for all ages. This band/DJ combo was perfect. One of the highlights of our wedding was the first round of dancing, and I don't think it could have happened without Shirim. My wife and I both wanted that first set to be joyous and raucous; we knew that our friends and family would bring the energy and the dancing, but without the live music of a great band like Shirim, it never really works. They played off of the energy of the crowd and helped keep the dancing going for at an hour. When everyone was about to pass out on the dance floor, they were still going strong. Cousins still come up to me at family events and tell me how much fun they had dancing at our wedding. Aside from playing excellent music in excellent fashion, in a range of styles, you folks were incredibly easy and helpful to work with. You were happy to accommodate us with whatever song selections we wanted, played loud when we wanted it loud and soft when we wanted it soft. You were also accommodating in varying the combo -- clarinet and accordion for the cocktail hour, trombone and drums added for the reception, and even one of D and J's friends as a vocalist for their first dance. I had the feeling throughout that you knew how to patiently work with people (specifically, S... and me) who had never planned a wedding, and who had a million things to deal with at once.
